It may be just a northern Ohio thing, but Jonagold apples are the best around here. Delicious raw, holds their shape and taste when cooked or baked, they're the ones I go to the orchard for.

Agree with others” concerns re: absence of a honeycrisp on this list, as they are quite delightful imo, despite being at least 2x more expensive than any other apple at my coop or at the devil’s store, Whole Foods. Love a pink lady also (TWSS).

Here is a list of all the apples developed by the University of Minnesota. Every apple need is met. This commitment to excellence in the public good is why I moved here.

WHERE IS SWEETANGO! IT'S FROM MINNESOTA! I demand a redo!

I can't remember which newsletter pointted me in. the direction of apple rankings.com, but they ranked SweeTango number one, and did NOT like Cosmic Crisp.

My faves are Pink Lady and SweeTango, my husband prefers Cosmic Crisp but he'll settle for Honeycrisp.

Haraldsons are Minnesota Apple Perfection. Tart, crisp and sweet. Granny Smiths are derogatory, yes, but only good for making pies.

What, no Honeycrisp? I was sincerely waiting for your thoughts! (Mine are that when they are good, they are sublime, but they can occasionally be total trash.)

This is amazing and I agree that red delicious apples can go to hell!

I thought it was gonna be about perfume, though, so I came with this already copied to be pasted (because the description talks about Newton under an apple tree).

Aaaaa I would happily send you a decanted sample! I bought this perfume as a gift to myself after thinking about it for a YEAR. I am literally invested in discussing it with people who care as deeply about these sorts of things as I do!!
