Love this idea because it seems to lead directly to my favourite mode of spending time with close friends: the Errand Mooch. A type of socialising where one friend follows another as they complete various necessary but non-stressful/urgent pieces of life admin. In between, you get coffee or lunch, make fun of prices on fancy shoes and agree that three types of cake between two people makes absolute sense.
Love this. As a person who has had eye surgery and has not been able to drive since mid February, I’ve told friends just pick me up and run your errands!
So there is a name for this! I recently made a new friend who gets the Errand Mooch (TM) and it's like a weight lifted off my entire soul. Of course we can do tipsy grocery shopping and loiter by the magazines, I thought they'd never ask!
Notable mention to the long-distance friend who is happy to have you on the phone while they do regular, everyday stuff, often for hours, without needing to keep up a conversation the whole time.
This is something that I'm loving about being on my year-long road trip, when I go to stay with friends there isn't a designated day that I'm leaving, and sometimes I end up staying longer because we're having fun just living normal life together! I got to hang out in NOLA with Shelley for over a week and our other friend stayed 3 weeks and it was such a delight!
Lolled at "Didn’t these people have jobs?" That is literally what takes me out when I'm trying to watch things like Bridgerton. Doesn't anybody work?? Their staff should unionize!
Exactly! How could anyone have attained that level of free time??? to ONLY care about dressing for dinner and ~intrigue~? i both hate this and also want this
Yes it’s quite a dichotomy of thought. I also think there is always some really boring person there that you have to avoid being trapped by, like the elderly Aunt (Dame Maggie Smith) in A Room With a view.
I love love love this. I have a performer friend who comes for a Victorian Visit at least once a year between gigs/contracts/etc and it's the coziest. Reminds me of when I was a kid and my grandparents would come for weeks at a time. Thank you for naming this concept!! I will be adding this to my vocabulary toute suite!!
Ooh I'll have to look into this, thank you! the last cream conditioning cleanser i tried was New Wash, and it went so badly i was emailing back and forth with their customer service team for a month straight LOL

A friend who is committed to an Errand Mooch is a true treasure

I love that! I think so many of us are doing this and we needed some vocab for it!! 💕💕
That is EXACTLY how I think of Rae’s beautiful perfectly unkempt updos, he has the hair of every romance novel’s main character.
These are so excellent
💋💋💋
it feels quite unfair to me, tbh
Love this concept! Also, I have very fine, extremely straight hair and I've been using this stuff every few days. I feel like it moisturizes but isn't heavy and also dries out my scalp less. Just a thought! https://cultandking.com/product/creampop-conditioning-cleanser-for-hair-2/

Eek! Well, don't risk it if it's financially a stretch ;)
But how is the mesh kitchen strainer after all this work?
THE MESH STRAINER HAS BEEN BOILED
I have wanted to try a diffuser on my lightly curly hair, but didn’t want to invest. Thank you for sharing your friend’s idea.
I love this!! Currently on the last day of what I now realize is a Victorian Visit in Providence, RI :)
This is dreamy, I love it <3 This is how I would like to spend my time, hopping from one victorian visit to another.
I love this
